"I
think Hometown Connection Clay looks cute! How funny his outfit is so similar
(probably a few dollars difference in price though!) His face is much thinner
though. I don't understand why Clay said nobody found him attractive before
AI. I would think a lot of young girls would have thought him cute. "

I agree. Yeah, he was really cute "back then". I've enjoyed watching Clay
grow into his sharp planes and angles so very much. It's a little embarrassing
to admit how much he once reminded me of my most serious high school boyfriend,
the one with the long, wrap-you-up arms and the large, you're-safe-with-me
hands. His was an intensely focused gaze and man, his kiss should have
melted my parents' driveway. Such a gentleman, but so passionate.
Now,
when I look at Clay Aiken, I no longer see that boyish colt with a slightly
awkward gallop and unfocused, but willing, energy. I see so much more in
that ready smile, the knowing quirk of his lips, the crinkles beside those
intense eyes. Intelligence and purpose mingle with joy, humor, and pleasure
in those eyes. Those broad shoulders and lean body seem capable and strong;
that face is a fascinating sculpture of beauty, interesting character and
charisma. He moves those clever hands with confidence. And there's that
voice.
That
voice. Ahem. Well, let's just say I've listened to the snippets of ATDW
many, many times...and there are...these sounds he makes that steal my
breath every time. He's a wizard who weaves a vocal tapestry, endlessly
captivating. A certain pitch, a multi-colored tone, an inflection, an exhalation,
a groan...What is it? Maybe it's a certain vibration that reaches deep
behind my resistance and tugs my heart right out of my chest.
How
can that voice still captivate so powerfully after all this time?
So,
his coat may hint of Hometown days, but the man within that coat now is
something altogether...MORE.
